1998 Ford Explorer XLT
| |||||
I am the original owner of this Explorer and it has never let me down. I purchased it in 1998 , and drove it cross country to New Jersey. Where I drove it for four years. I never lost traction in the snow, I never had a problem pulling other vehicles on dollies, or any other trailer. It survived the winters with absoloutely no rust, and didn't need brakes for five years. I moved back to Californiia haulling a trailer for 3,600 miles and never had a problem traveling at or slightly above the speed limit. I added RAM air, a K&N air Filter and increased the power and fuel mileage of the vehicle after moving back to California. As a result on long trips this Explorer gets 350 Miles on a full tank of 87 octane gas, and reduced emissions from the vehicle. This vehicle is 50 State Smog Legal, and more performance can be added easily to it by means of purchasing an upgrade chip for the computer. I have maintained this vehicle immaculately and repaired anything that need it immediatly. This vehicle has a new heavy duty clutch, a rebult rear end (for better towing), new front controll arms, ball joints and bushings, tie rods etc... the whole front was rebuilt in February 2004, as expected. The motor has excellent compression, and a solid 5 speed transmission. I also installed a Chrome grill guard, $500.00, and Hella rally lights $80.00, for offroad driving. This vehicle has seen its share of dirt roads, and dark dirt roads, and I never needed to use my brights. In back is a U-Haul 5,000 lb hitch,with pigtail wire connector, and removable tounge. I do not want to part with this vehicle, but I have no use for it anymore, so please do not ask me to lower the price, this vehicle sells for $10,00 on a used car lot, and has a blue book value of $9,000. | ||||||||||||||||||
